Hello Burbank Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!  We are very excited to welcome all students back on campus beginning the first day of school Monday, August 22nd.  My staff and myself have been working to ensure that all students return to school in a safe and positive environment.

Our school website is a wonderful resource for families.  Please take a moment to subscribe to our school google calendar to keep up to date with all school activities, holidays, and early release days.  Families can also find our daily bell schedule under the “Our School” tab.  Another useful tool on our school website is our Voluntary Supply List.  Please note this list is voluntary, if your child does not bring supplies to school they will be provided to them.  Our school office strives to provide up to date information on our website, please take the time to visit at www.burbankes.us.

Students will arrive on campus Monday, August 22nd beginning at 7:15 a.m.  School will start at 7:45 a.m.  Drop off will continue to be in the front drop off parking lot located off of Roseton Avenue.  Students will enter the gate located at the drop off lanes.  Kinder students will enter the Kindergarten gate located off of 178th street. Kindergarten.  Our campus will continue to remain closed to the public, only staff members are permitted to enter.

Students will be dismissed at 1:03 p.m. for the first week of school.  Beginning Monday, August 29th students in grades 1-6 will be dismissed at regular time 2:03 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Students will be dismissed every Wednesday at 1:03 p.m.  Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 1:03 p.m. through September 26th.   As a reminder please refer to our School Calendar for these dates and times.

All students will have the opportunity to be provided a free breakfast and lunch for the 2022-2023 school year.  Breakfast will be served 7:15 a.m.- 7:40 a.m. and will be eaten at the lunch tables.  All students requesting a lunch will inform their teacher in the morning during attendance.  If your child prefers to bring their own lunch from home it is perfectly acceptable.

Student teacher assignments will be available beginning Friday, August 19th at 3 p.m. on Aeries Parent Portal.  Parents can access Aeries Parent Portal through our district website at abcusd.us under the “Family” tab.  This will lead you to log in or if you are needing additional help you can click on the yellow highlighted Parent Portal help at the bottom of the screen.

ABC Unified has made it even easier for families to stay up to date with the most current district and school information with the addition of the ParentSquare app.  This app allows families to receive notifications and messages by email and text.  ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent or guardian using their preferred email address and phone number from Aeries Parent Portal.  Please take the time to download the ParentSquare app today to ensure you don’t miss any important information.  If you are needing assistance please visit our district website, click ParentSquare under the family tab for instructions.

We are very excited to get this school year started and to continue to partner with you to provide a quality education for your child.
